ABOUT US:
NJAAGP 2009 Scholarship Guidelines
NJAAGP will provide 3 paid registrations to the 2009 national conference. One of those will
be reserved for an officer; the other 2 will be open to any chapter member. Additional
funds have been set aside for travel scholarships. Any person awarded a registration or
travel scholarship to the AAGP National Conference:
•
Must be a member in good standing of both national and local•
Must contribute to the long-term viability of the chapter•
Must be willing to report back to the chapter at a chapter meeting on what was learned/offered at the national conference•
Must have sufficient means to provide the balance of the funds required in order to attend or must forfeit the scholarshipApplication Guidelines
Applications will be reviewed by the NJAAGP executive committee. Applications will consist of the following criteria:

3 paragraph explanation regarding how the applicant fits the eligibility criteria above and selection criteria below,what they hope to learn, how attending the conference will further their career, and what they intend to contribute to the chapter
as a result of their attendance.

Are you requesting assistance with the registration fees and/or travel costs? How much are you requesting? Please explain.Will you still be able to attend even if you only receive a partial scholarship?

Proof of membershipThe executive committee will answer questions at the September 17 chapter meeting and
will accept applications from now until September 21. Submit application along with full contact information to NJAAGP president, Stacey Abate, via email at abates@georgian.edu.
Applicants will be notified by September 30 so that all travel arrangements can be made for the November conference in Austin. All decisions of the
executive committee are final.
Selection Criteria
•
Please state that you are a member of NJAAGP in good standing•
Explain your active involvement as a chapter member (attend meetings regularly, host a meeting, obtain a speaker, help with the conference, etc)•
Are you willing to report back at an upcoming chapter meeting (preferably the November meeting)?•
Can you commit to attending the on-site chapter meeting at the conference?•
Explain your financial need (registration costs, travel, etc.)•
State whether or not you have attended National in previous years and which years (preference will be given to 1st timers).|
